Two Leading Security Pros at MDR Leader Pondurance to Advise SOAR-Solution Creators at Revelstoke

Santa Clara, CA, September 28, 2022 – Two top innovators at Pondurance, the leading provider of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, will join advisory boards at Revelstoke, a next-generation enterprise Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) company.

Pondurance’s Ben Christensen is the first member of Revelstoke’s Technical Advisory Board while his colleague John Sharpe is joining Revelstoke’s Customer Advisory Board. At Pondurance, Christensen and Sharpe focus on the issues the Revelstoke is built to address – alleviating stress on overworked Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts burdened by too many point products and mundane tasks that interfere with actual security.

“We are putting together a team of innovative thinkers that understand the problem facing the security industry,” said Bob Kruse, CEO and co-founder of Revelstoke. “From their work building the industry’s leading MDR service provider, Ben and John provide us with expertise and insight on how to ensure automation and human intelligence come together seamlessly. When it comes to automation in SOCs, these guys are two of the best.”

Christensen is the Engineering Manager, Automation/SOAR at Pondurance. He isa multi-industry security automation leader that has automated more than six jobs completely. He is nicknamed “The Automator” because of his ability to automate almost anything with consistent inputs, logic, and outputs. He specializes in SOAR, re-engineering, and integrations for ticket systems, CI/CD, IaC, and middleware benefiting all Security Departments. His favorite creation is nicknamed “Frankensteining” (combining multiple languages of code to work together in harmony).

“Finding Revelstoke was like finding the Rosetta Stone,” said Christensen. “We need scalable solutions Revelstoke provides that can provide meaningful integration connecting multiple products. We need more automation to make sure there are fewer alerts for SOC workers that have far too much on their plate and too little help.”

Sharpe is Pondurance’s director of Security Operations Centers. He is a 10+ year cybersecurity professional and U.S. Air Force Veteran, with experience working in Fortune 100 and startup environments as well.

“Automation is necessary to maximizing analyst time spent and ensuring Security Operation Centers can identify real threats quickly and efficiently,” said Sharpe. “Cyber Threats evolve daily, as should your SOC Operation to keep ahead of the latest threats. Revelstoke is built to be a valuable tool for SOC analysts. I look forward to working with Bob and his team to make organizations safer and free security pros to do the work they are best at.”
